Service Description

9:00 - 11:30 AM Thursday 2nd May - Thursday 27th JUNE "LOOKING TO THE ISLAND" a naturalistic beach / seascape… where you will learn to paint the elements of a painting STEP BY STEP. You’ll create your final painting once you’ve 'mastered' painting all of the elements. Lots of adults haven’t touched a paintbrush since they were children… so I deliberately pitch my classes to beginners & improvers. And yes… beginners CAN paint a beach / sea scape like this one! I never leave people stranded, so if you get into a pickle... I’m there to help. It takes me just ten seconds to morph into a Rescue Remedy Art Ambulance. Just wear old clothes and be ready for a fun time ! YOU WILL … * Learn which brushes /sponges /paints/ inks/ stencils/ art pens /stamps to use. * Learn how to blend inks and paints using art gel, sponges, brushes etc. * Practice painting Sky and Clouds … mix paints to create a realistic looking sky scape. Use dry brushes, sponges, gels etc. * Practice painting Toe Toe (Toi Toi) Inks, pens & acrylic paints used here ! * Practice painting Harakeke (Flax & flax flowers) * Practice painting Sand and Sea * Draw & block out your final composition (I can help!) * Paint your masterpiece over three or four classes. WHAT'S INCLUDED… * Your own Art Kit that you can take away with you (brushes, heavy paper plus some other materials) * Acrylic paints, inks (various brands) & all heavy duty paper, gel medium, sponges, pencils, templates, pastels & crayons… Whatever you need to use in class time. * Step-by-step INSTRUCTION SHEETS to use in class. * The only thing that you might need to provide is your final canvas - IF you want to paint on one. CLASS SIZE: *Up to 15 students. If there are more students, I have an experienced painting assistant at-the-ready. If you have mobility issues there is a ramp and you can enter through that door. STILL NOT SURE? Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATIONS ? If you’ve booked into a class, I can only offer refunds if you cancel 14 days ( or more) before the class start date. That’s because most students book well in advance, and last minute bookings are not the norm. REFUNDS ? Sorry. I am unable to give refunds for classes missed. You are welcome to send a friend to take your place if you have to miss a class. SWAPS ? In general, if you are booked into a particular class, you won’t be able to swap into another one. In exceptional circumstances, please contact me , and I might be able to find a space in a different class. There are no guarantees, however. If the other classes are full…I can’t oversubscribed them.
