INKY MAGIC is a ONE DAY WORKSHOP. See our workshop photographs from July below. After practicing techniques using inks, pens, and metallic foils (and more!) you will design your own painting and complete your very own canvas. This class would be a great place for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS to start! Also fun for non-beginners who want to use inks, metallics and foils. Even if you’ve never held a paintbrush before, you WILL be able to manage this painting. I’m always on hand to help / rescue students when necessary. Worried about drawing / patterning? (Most people ARE!) Never fear. I’ve got PLENTY of resources to help. Promise! Just wear old clothes, BRING YOUR LUNCH and be ready for a fun time! You will learn… which brushes, inks, paint and metallic pens, and metallic FOILS to use; how to blend inks; how to PATTERN using paint, gel pens and inks (using my resources to help you!); how to apply metallic FOILS… the easy way; how to plan and paint your own INKY MAGIC composition. The colours, layout etc. are up to you… but I will guide you! WHAT IS SUPPLIED? ALL MATERIALS FOR THE DAY ARE SUPPLIED, INCLUDING A CANVAS. - Inks, metallic FOILS, sponges, brushes, gel pens, heavy A4 cartridge, a canvas etc. - Step-by-step instruction sheets to use in class. (You are welcome to photograph them for future reference.) Class size: Up to 12 students. Where are classes held? 49 Huatoki Street, New Plymouth. PLEASE PARK ON THE ROAD then walk round the back of the house. Enter the workshop through the ranch sliders (four steps). If you have mobility issues, please let me know beforehand because there is a ramp you can use and I can organise for you to park close to the ramp. No problemo. Bring your own lunch.
