Kapiti: ‘OCEAN ALCHEMY’ One day painting workshop - Date: Saturday 17th October 2026 - Venue: Kapiti Arts and Crafts Society, Matai Road / Raumati Beach - Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm (please arrive ten minutes early to get settled in before the class kicks off) - Price: $180 per person (all materials are supplied) ‘Ocean Alchemy’ is a ONE DAY WORKSHOP. After spending most of the morning practising techniques using inks, metallic brush pens, acrylic paints etc, you will design your own composition and paint your very own canvas. This class would be a great place for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS to start! Also fun for non beginners who want to use new materials and try out some very different techniques. Even if you’ve never held a paintbrush before, you WILL be able to manage this painting. I’m always on hand to help out and rescue students when necessary. Worried about drawing / patterning? (most people ARE!) Never Fear. I’ve got PLENTY of resources to help. Promise! Just wear old clothes, BRING YOUR LUNCH and be ready for a fun time! You Will Learn… Which brushes / sponges / inks / metallic art pens to use. How to blend inks using water, sponges, brushes etc. How to PATTERN using gel pens, metallic ink pens and liner brushes with inks. (using all of my resources to help you) How to plan and paint your own ‘Ocean Alchemy’ composition. The colours, layout etc are up to you…but I will guide you! What’s supplied? ALL MATERIALS FOR THE DAY ARE SUPPLIED, INCLUDING A CANVAS. (Inks, sponges, brushes, pencils, gel pens, metallic pen brushes, heavy A4 paper, a canvas etc) Step-by-step instruction sheets to use in class. (You are welcome to photograph them for future reference.) Class Size: Up to 12 students Bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee supplied. This will be a very busy, but relaxing day.
