Kererū and Pōhutukawa : One Day Workshop for Adults in Hāwera $180 Per Person Whether you are a raw beginner or a seasoned ‘intermediate’ you CAN complete a smaller version of this painting in just one day! I’ll teach you STEP-BY-STEP so you won’t feel swamped or befuddled! My aim is to build your confidence by nudging you towards skills mastery. I provide step-by-step illustrated ‘guides’ and I demonstrate EVERYTHING! Then I circulate constantly to make sure you’re on the right track. If necessary, I can rescue you if you get into a pickle! That’s my job! LEARN How to mix, tint and tone paints for your ‘Kereru’ and ‘leaves’. How to apply and blend paints using sponges and specialist brushes How to use acrylic INKS in order to achieve really fine lines for Kereru feathers and Pohutukawa filaments. How to use stencils for backgrounds. WHAT IS PROVIDED Acrylic Paints, Inks and Artists Gel Medium (magic stuff), pencils, stencils etc A variety of brushes, including rig and fan brushes, SPONGES etc A canvas ( either 30 x 30 cm or A3 sized ) Hairdryers, water containers, rags, painters tape etc Step-by-step INSTRUCTION SHEETS ( that you are welcome to photograph for future reference ) WHERE : Hawera Library WHEN : Sunday 3rd May 2026 TIMES : 9.00 am - 3.30pm CLASS SIZE: Usually up to 12 students.
