WHANGANUI: ‘KOTARE/ KINGFISHER AT REST’ - ONE DAY WORKSHOP - $180 Per Person (all materials are supplied) - DATE: Saturday 26th September 2026 - Time: 9.00am to 4.00pm - Venue: Whanganui Arts Centre, 17-18 Taupo Quay PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A MARKET DAY FOR WANGANUI SO PARKING WILL BE AT A PREMIUM. Try to be at the venue at 8.30 a.m. so that you are not panicking about finding a parking spot close by. KOTARE at REST is a ONE DAY WORKSHOP. After practising techniques using inks, paint, pens etc in the morning, you will paint your very own canvas. This class would be a great place for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS to start! Also fun for non beginners who want to use new materials and techniques. Even if you’ve never held a paintbrush before, you WILL be able to manage this painting. I’m always on hand to help out and rescue students when necessary. Worried about drawing / patterning? (most people ARE!) Never Fear. I’ve got PLENTY of resources to help. Promise! Just wear old clothes, BRING YOUR LUNCH and be ready for a fun time! You Will Learn… Which brushes / sponges / inks / art pens to use. How to blend inks using water, sponges, brushes etc. How to block in the base colours then paint detailed feathers etc over top. (Using my resources to help you) What’s supplied? ALL MATERIALS FOR THE DAY ARE SUPPLIED, INCLUDING A CANVAS. (Inks, sponges, brushes, pencils, gel pens, heavy A4 paper, a canvas etc) Step-by-step instruction sheets to use in class. (You are welcome to photograph them for future reference.) Class Size: Up to 12 students. Bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee supplied. This will be a very busy, but relaxing day.
